The Nordic Work Group
for International Breastfeeding Issues
Nafia was founded in 1978 as a joint organisation in Sweden,
Norway and Denmark.
NAFIA-Sweden was formed in 1981.
It is a voluntary non-profit organisation working to promote,
support and protect breastfeeding by:
especially to various organisations, e.g. women's groups, political and
professional organisations and labour unions.
Substitutes and its implementation in Sweden and the European Union
NAFIA edits the newspaper NAFIA-nytt (NAFIA news).
Our work is financed by membership-fees and donations from organisations
supporting the Nestlé boycott.
All work within the organisation is done voluntarily.
We mainly offer information and education on international aspects on breastfeeding
and do lobbying on issues related to the Code and the boycott.
The service we offer is usually free of charge, but we ask for donations
for materials provided.
